You will seat in our comfortable and elegant sedan or van. From that moment you have just to enjoy your trip and tour of the Eternal City.
We will arrive in Rome after about one hour and ten minutes.
You will start your tour in the faboulous Venice Square dominated by the XV Century Palazzo Venezia (during Fascism it became the private studio of Benito Mussolini and was used for his public addresses) and the early XX Century monument to Victor Emmanuel II (the tomb of the Unknow Soldier).
We will continue the tour moving in the area between the Campidoglio and the Tiber where Julius Caesar began the construciotn of the oldest theatre in Rome. After his death, it was finished by the emperor Augustus between 17 and 13 BD and dedicated to his nephew Macellus: The Marcellus Theatre.
We will drive you close the Church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, the famous bizantine Church erected where once stood the Ara Maxima of Hercules and where you will admire the famous Bocca della Verità.
Turning on the left we will reach the valley between the Palatine and Aventine hills where our tour will continue visiting the Circus Maximum (the Roman Stadium 600 m long and up to 200 wide).
Finally we will move to the Colosseum or Anphitheater Flavium that derive from the name of Colossus of Nero which stood in front it. In 70 AD, under Vespasian, a start was made on the construction of the Colosseum, the largest amphitheatre of classical time. It was completed on the 80 AD under Titus.
Driving through Via del Corso we will arrive to the famous Trevi Fountain. The architect was Nicola Salvi , commissioned by Clement XII, finishing in 1735 a work begun almost a century earlier by Bernini.
From there we will quickly move to the Spanish Square, dominated by the the famous Spanish Steps, by the Church of Trinità dei Monti and by the fountain designed by Pietro Bernini, father of the great Gian Lorenze: la Barcaccia.
We will drive you on the Pincio, a series of vast terrace adorned with fountains, marble groups, friezes and arcades commissionated between the 1816 and 1820 to a Frenchman, Giueseppe Valadier.
The Pincio allow the entrance in the northern piazza within the Aurelian Wall: Piazza del Popolo. The Square takes its name from the Church of S. Maria del Popolo. In the centre of the square is one of the largest and oldest obelisks to have reached Rome from Egypt (Seti I and Ramses II – 1300 BC).
From Piazza del Popolo we will move to the Pantheon, the temple costructed in 27 BC by Marcus Agrippa, son-in-law of Augustus, probably dedicated to the seven planetary gods (Pahntehon, in fact, means “very holy” and not “to all the gods”).
Few meters ahead and we will enter in a magnificent square: Piazza Navona. The sqaure follow the shape of the Stadium of Domitian. At the center of the square is one of the finest fountains in Rome made by the great Gian Lorenzo Bernini: the fountain of the four Rivers.
The tour will finish with the visit of St. Peter Square in the Vatican Area. You will admire the St. Peter Basilica. The primitive basilica was consacrated in the 326 AD by Pope Silvesteron the spot where the first vicar of Christ is suppose to be buried. Niccolò V decided to rebuilt it in 1452.
Many of the greatest artist contributed to the creation of the gigantic church we know today, from Rossellini to Bramante, from Raphael to Giuliano da Sangallo, and Michelangelo who planned the grat Dome.
